Q: What are some ways that I can demonstrate that my business is Christian based without discrimination?
My business is a for-profit christian based LLC. I have implemented some procedures that show outwardly that we are Christian, but am definitely looking for more. I want to glorify God in every way in my business, and I want the customers to be able to see this clearly. Its an athletic youth facility with homeschool p.e., gymnastics, cheer, tumble, tramp, dance, parties, martial arts, and a whole lot more but thats the general idea. thanks.

A: In all of your business transactions be they great or small, be scrupulously honest and forthcoming in all matters. Paint some scroll banners with favorite passages from the Bible and hang them up as decorations. SHOW what you believe and act according to the principles of Jesus Christ. People can SAY anything, it's how you truly act that will be noticed and commented on. As to offending/discriminating, a Limited Liscensed Company can do anything that fits into the parameters of legal business practice and include your personal beliefs. There will always be people who are totally WILLING to be offended, whether intent was there or not. Remember that Jesus Christ did the will of the Father and those who chose to follow Him found LOVE, LIGHT, AND SECURITY. Jesus didn't stop doing what He believed He was sent to accomplish because a few people objected. If people mention that they are offended by anything, encourage them to go to another facility that will not offend their personal beliefs and explain that you will NOT alter your beliefs to suit every "whim of doctrine" just to stay politically correct. You might go around in your area and see if the local churches have a community bulletin board where they accept advertising for various products and services. They might post a flier for you. Good luck in your business!

Q: can a strong christian become a successful business person?
a strong christian meaning.... they stick to their values, beliefs, opinions, etc. basically can a christian become a successful business person without screwing over everyone to get to the top?

A: Yes, I have known some successful business men and women that God has blessed because of their integrity. By way of example, Mary Kay Ash, founder of Mary Kay Cosmetics, believed in "God first, family second, and business third", and because she put God first in her business values, God has blessed her company. She has gone on to be with the Lord, but the company continues to carry on in the values she has set up. Furthermore, among all the awards the women can win (from jewelry to cars, vacations, etc), the highest award and most prestigious is called the "go-give" award, in which she is voted on by other Mary Kay consultants based on the attitude of being a giver. It's not based on sales, or on how well she does, but it is based on her willingness and ability to sacrifice for others as Jesus taught, such as "do unto others as you want others to do for you" and "I came not to be served, but to serve ... " Only the most selfless woman can win this award based on Biblical principles.

Q: How to get into the Christian Music business?

A: I would probably start in the church playing an instrument or in choir at church. Maybe start local as a vocalist or musician and maybe get some connections and progress i bet that will be the best solution.

Q: can a strong christian be a successful business person?
a strong christian meaning.... they stick to their values, beliefs, opinions, etc. basically can a christian become a successful business person without screwing over everyone to get to the top?

A: Truett Cathy certainly has done so (founder of Chick-Fil-A). He even keeps his restaurants closed on Sunday so his employees can spend the day with their families. And I'm pretty sure Dave Thomas of Wendy's is a pretty strong Christian as well. EDIT: Here's a list of famous (successful) Christians: http://adherents.com/largecom/fam_christian.html

Q: I need a name for my Counselling business which is Christian Counselling based?
I want the name to appeal to Christians but also be attractive to clients that arnt Christian.

A: Here's what I tell my clients to do. Invite over about ten of your best friends for a wine tasting party at your house early in the evening and make sure you have a designated driver or two. After everyone has had a glass or two, and start to giggle tell them you are looking for a name for your Christian Counselling business. You'd be surprised at how creative they become. The more they giggle the more chance there is of something very good coming out of it. Get several names you like because the challenge will be to find a name that is also available as a web site name. The moment you settle on something, do a search at http://www.godaddy.com to see if the name is available. If you are very lucky and it is, available, buy it immediately. The price is usually less than $10 and you’ll own it for at least a year. If you don't drink alcohol then try some party games or whatever you do to loosen your friends up Good Luck

Q: Can you be a Christian and own a business that sold alcohol, lottery tickets, beer and cigarettes?
A Baptist church thinks that if you own a business and you are a minister of God that you shouldnt sell alcohol and beer, cigarettes or lottery tickets! He chose to resign his membership. Do you think its scriptual to make him stop sellin these products?

A: Hmm... good question. We have to do as God would have us do, not what the world would have us do. This makes sense - a Christian shouldn't sell alcohol, lottery tickets, beer, and cigarettes in his store. As a Christian, you shouldn't be a vessel to bring these things to people they sin with. Awesome question :o)

Q: Can you be a Christian and own a business that sold alchohol, lottery tickets, beer and cigarettes?
A Baptist church thinks that if you own a business and you are a minister of God that you shouldnt sell alcohol and beer, cigarettes or lottery tickets! He chose to resign his membership. Do you think its scriptual do make him stop sellin these products?

A: Not in my Faith (nondenominational) I am not judging them at all, but many Catholics do see the harm in these things.

Q: What is the best way to spread the word about a new Christian home-based business?

A: The BEST advertiment on planet earth is a good reputation..you can't buy that! The other ways are to advertise in Christian publication such as your local Christian blue pages or even Christian radio stations and also to make contacts with local churches, through pastor, youth pastors and people in the misinstry in general...and spread your business cards EVERYWHERE...that's free!

Q: I want to start a christian t-shirt business out of my home. Can any one tell me where do I start, from A to Z

A: Hello my amigo! First, make a list (action of attack) and second, execute it. Things to consider: 1. Name of the T-Shirt company? 2. What is your total start up budget? 3. Once you figure out the name, think of where you are going to buy the shirts? are you going to make them yourself? or are you going to by them wholesale? Or are you going to buy blank shirts and you are going to do the "screen printing"? If you are going to do the screen printing? I would suggest go on ebay and buy a $600 screen printing kit with some videos. 4. Product Distribution: Think of how you are going to distribute your shirts? Is it going to be through a webiste or a what? 5. If you are going to be a small company, I would suggest go down to your city hall and pay those $50 bucks for your permit. 6. I would advice you in looking who are your competitors and what are they doing, so you could get some helpful tips. Well, good luck with this...

Q: How should Christian business owners (of LLCs) tithe?
I just formed an LLC. I'm the only member, and so taxes are only paid once, through me. It seems to make sense to treat tithes the same way, and just take 10% off the top, BUT all of the gross revenue isn't to be treated as personal income, of course--some money stays with the business, and some comes to me as pay. I supposed I could tithe once for the business, and then again on what I take home. What's the right thing to do?

A: Profits seem like a good starting point for a business, because that is what YOU the person is reaping.

Q: I need a directory of Christian businesses/business people in Singapore?

A: Other than the possibility of a local church directory, they don't make directories like that.

Q: Is it "christian" to advertise a Christian business?
Whenever I see a business advertise itself as being Christian, I wonder if that means non Christians should take their business elsewhere. It seems to suggest that non Christians aren't honest. Personally, if I have a choice, I will take my business elsewhere when I see that. christn 35 res: You've made my point about what I object to in advertising a Christian business. You've assumed it means that they are honest, and that other businesses aren't. I think that is a slap in the face to the many honest businesses that don't wear their religion on their sleeve. You also have no way of knowing if a dishonest business advertises itself as Christian just to fool people who would make that kind of assumption. I prefer to trust the BBB or word of mouth over claims of being Christian.

A: I think it might be a case of tooting ones own horn. I am a Christian, but I think it is tacky to advertise one's business as "Christian". We are not to make financial gain using the name of our Lord and savior. He is to be worshipped, not used as a means to make money.
