Q: Where can I find islamic clothing in Southern California?
Salam,
I converted to Islam in February, and would like some advice as to where I can find more hijabs, and islamic clothing in Southern California, preferably closer to the Burbank/Pasadena area.
Shoukran!
A: You might try contacting an Islamic Center -
The Islamic Center of So Ca http://www.islamctr.org/
The Islamic Congregation of La Canada Flintridge http://www.iclcf.org/
The Islamic Center of San Gabriel Valley http://www.icsgv.com/
There should be someplace near Pasadena, as that is the location of New Horizon School, an Islamic elementary and middle school, so there must be a large population. http://www.newhorizonschool.org

Q: A question about islamic clothing for females?
Is it hard wearing the full Islamic clothing like the hi-gab when looking for work or taking an airplane after 9/11? Things like that. And if you don't wear it why?
A: I do wear full Islamic clothing and wear the hijab and i don't think it's hard at all.. I really don't care what others think because this is my religion and i am proud to be a muslim.. Work does not matter at all, but i know some people are not allowed to wear the hijab at the workplace.. At the airport they search our luggage's and even us but who cares, it's not like i have a bomb or something like that on me.. ok
Hope this answers your question..
Q: islamic clothing?
do you think that islamics who immigrate to different parts of the world and have settled, should they still wear their hajab or should be able to continue wearing it and why do you come to this conclusion
A: Yes because
•I can’t be messed with! Hijab protects me – Hijab identifies a Muslim woman as a person of high moral standards to reduce her chances of being harassed.
“O Prophet! Tell your wives and daughters and the believing women, that they should cast their outer garments over their persons: that is most convenient, that they should be known (as such) and not molested.” [Quran 33:59]
•I am liberated from slavery to ‘physical perfection’ – Society makes women desire to become ‘perfect objects’. The multitudes of alluring fashion magazines and cosmetic surgeries show women’s enslavement to beauty. The entertainment industry pressures teens to believe that for clothes, less is better. When we wear Hijab, we vow to liberate ourselves from such desires and serve only God.
•I don’t let others judge me by my hair and curves! – In schools and professional environments, women are often judged by their looks or bodies—characteristics they neither chose nor created. Hijab forces society to judge women for their value as human beings, with intellect, principles, and feelings. A woman in Hijab sends a message, “Deal with my brain, not my body!”
•I feel empowered and confident – In contrast to today’s teenage culture, where anorexia and suicide are on the rise, as women attempt to reach an unattainable ideal of beauty, Hijab frees a woman from the pressure to ‘fit in’. She does not have to worry about wearing the right kind of jeans or the right shade of eyeshadow. She can feel secure about her appearance because she cares to please only Allah.
•I feel the bond of unity – Hijab identifies us as Muslims and encourages other Muslim sisters to greet us with the salutation of peace, “Assalamu Alaikum”. Hijab draws others to us and immerses us in good company.
It is my faith and show my submission to God and God is everywhere
Q: Where can I buy Islamic clothing locally?
I live in Ottawa, Canada and I need to buy some Islamic clothing (Kufis, Shemaghs/Keffiyahs, Thobes, Hijabs, etc). Can someone tell me where to buy these items locally? I have looked online. I would rather buy local than buy online.
I don't have a masjid.
A: There are a few Islamic clothing stores in Ottawa. Your best bet would be going to your masjid and asking someone there the location of those exact stores.
Q: Where can I buy Islamic clothing in Oklahoma?

Q: What are the rules for Islamic clothing?
I heard it's very strict. What are the rules for clothing for Muslims?
A: It's really very simple.
Thou shalt cover all thy body except thy hands, feet and thy face which may be open , if thou be not of the niqabi tribes.
Merry Christmas!!!
Q: where can i find islamic clothing like abaya / jilbab at afoordable rate?
I stay in Edison, NJ. I wud like to know if there are any good islamic stores that sell abayas/jilbabs and hijab at affordable rates. Please give me some addresses. Thanks
A: If you see a "covered" woman, ask her. Most of the time they are very friendly and willing to help. Otherwise, contact a mosque and ask someone there. If you are ever in Brookly, there are a few nice places, but I am not sure of price.
I knew a woman who took a pattern for a duster (housedress) and used it with nicer fabrics to make her own dresses. The tubelike garment that the women put on their heads and neck really look like a sleeve, and a large scarf is a large scarf. so, if you sew, you know what I am saying.
Q: are there any web sites that gives direction on making your own islamic clothing?
A: Here is a great website for making modest islamic clothing, I hope it helps you, Peace!
Q: Does Islamic Clothing differ in different parts of the world?
Does it differ? If it does, in what ways does it differ? Why does it differ?
Thanks!
10 points for best answer
A: It's more a cultural thing rather than religious.
I'm a Persian Muslim, a huge fan of colors and like to express that in my clothing and so do my other Persian Muslim friends.
but Muslim Arab girls mostly wear black and dark colors.
and for men, it doesn't matter, they can wear anything.
