Q: muslim????
how did muslim armoes won so much territory in the 30 years after the death of Mohammed? What were the two empires Muslim armoes fought and why did they easily defeat these forces?
A: Faith and determination... They fought and defeated the crusaders for the battle of Jerusalem in the 1200's and they conquered Spain for 500 years... And they treated Christians, Jews and non-believers with respect and dignity.
Q: What are the views of muslim men dating outside their religion?
Dating a muslim man and would like to know how much respect he has for me, a non muslim women.
A: How much respect do you have for your self? It's not always about religion.
Q: Can a Muslim in Malaysia work in the alcohol industry? As in own and distribute alcohol?
I'm curious to know if there is a restriction, whether the islamic law applies to just Malaysian muslims or all muslim in the country.
A: The consumption of alcohol is completely forbidden in Islam and so is selling and you shouldn't work in an alcohol industry either, and income derived from alcohol sales is also haram.
Q: Why Muslim man can maryy a christian or jewish woman but a muslim woman cant marry a christian or jewish man?
I read that a muslim man cant marry a hindu, budhisht, or any pagen woman but can marry a christian or jewish woman. So why cant a muslim woman marry a christian or jewish man?
A: With all due respect:
According to Islam, it is not an honour or a privilege to marry a non-Muslim. It is a big responsibility. According to Islam, it is better to abstain from such marriages. However, man being the head of his household is more capable to handle the needs and problems of his non-Muslim (Christian or Jewish) wife.
Why?
Muslims believe that Moses and Jesus, peace and blessings be upon them all, were Prophets of Allah and so they give them full honour and respect.
Whereas;
Jews and Christians do not consider Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, as the Prophet of Allah. Thus they are unable to give the same respect and honour to him and to his followers.
Thus;
A Jewish or Christian woman with a Muslim husband will be in a much better position than a Muslim woman with a Jewish or a Christian husband.
Even then;
There are many non-Muslim women who married outside their faith say that they wish their religion too had forbidden them, because they know how difficult and hard it is to be the wife of a husband who has a different faith.
A Muslim woman should know that Allah has really honoured her and made it easy for her by not allowing her to marry a non-Muslim man.
According to the Qur'an;
The husband is the head of the household and his wife should obey him. Allah does not put the Muslim woman in a position that a non-Muslim becomes her head in her own private life.
Allah has spared her to quite possibly suffer from being under the authority of a non-Muslim husband that may not well respect her beliefs.
I hope that helped answer your question somewhat :)
Q: How can a muslim boy marry a christian girl?
Could a boy from india who is muslim marry a christian girl? If so, how what type of marriage would they have? How would this work?
A: A muslim boy marrying a christian girl is perfectly acceptable in Islam although it is not preferrable. Male muslims can marry a Jewish, Christian or, obviously, Muslim female because the religion is passed down through the father so the children would be considered Muslims. This is why it is okay.
My own parents are similar to the types of people suggested in your question! My mum is completely english and was brought up a christian and my dad lived in Jordan all his life (he is half Syrian, half Jordanian) and then at university in England, they met and in the end got married. Everything turned out fine.
However, in answer specifically to your question, I do not know whether Indian parents would allow their son to marry a christian girl because it is a different culture to Arab culture. If the parents were happy with it, then it would be fine.
Hope I helped somehow :-)
Q: How can India respond effectively to Muslim Terrorism without killing millions of innocent people?
Recently I asked how can India respond to Muslim Terrorism that is funded to a large extent by Iran.
A number of replies were to the effect that we should use nuclear weapons against Iran.
The problem with that is that we would kill millions of innocent people who had nothing to do with the terrorism if we did that.
Is there an effective way of responding to Muslim Terrorism with out killing many innocent perople in the process? If so, please tell me what it is.
Sultan 395 you are very foolish. It is vicous evil criminals like yourself who commit acts of violence against the citizens of India who are responsible for much of the death and the misery in this world.
I have never advocated the use of nuclear weapons against Iran because many innocent Iranians who do not share your desire for violence against India would be killed.
I am very impressed with Mike's solution that India should blockade Iran so that you cannot export oil. That would shut off the money that you use to fund terrorism.
Note to Ebenezer Scrooge. I have never given you a violation notice.
I have been interested in your answers, even the ones that I did not agree with.
I would be very interested in your answer.
A: I think that the best way to respond is the way that former United States President John Kennedy responded during the Cuban missile crisis.
Back then the former Soviet Union tried to install nuclear missiles in Cuba.
President Kennedy responded by blockading Cuba.
I think that the same needs to be done with Muslim countries that fund terrorism.
The money that goes to fund terrorism comes for the most part from revenues those countries receive from exporting oil.
India has a right to defend itself by blockading the countries that fund terrorism to prevent them from exporting oil. That will dry up the money available for terrorism and will not result in the loss of innocent lives.
India can blockade Iran or any other country on its own. India does not need permission from anybody.
India certainly has the ability and the resources to blockade Iran or any other country.
I recommend that India blockade Iran to prevent Iran from exporting oil until the bombing by the Muslim terrorists stops.
Q: What happened to the Muslim population of the independent republic of Armenia?
I am sure they were consisted of at least 30-40 percent of the population of that republic whereas Armenia today is designated as 98% Armenian-pure, according to the CIA Fact Book. Therefore, I am wondering what happened to the Muslim population of Armenia.
It's not an assumption, but the truth.
It's not an assumption, but the truth.
A: I recommend you to read 'Men Are Like That'
"''An appropriate analogy with the Jewish Holocaust might be the systematic extermination of the entire Muslim population of the independent republic of Armenia which consisted of at least 30-40 percent of the population of that republic. The memoirs of an Armenian army officer who participated in and eye-witnessed these atrocities was published in the U.S. in 1926 with the title 'Men Are Like That.' Other references abound.''
Rachel A. Bortnick - The Jewish Times - June 21, 1990."
Only by reading an Armenian confession is enough:
"Confession of a Dashnak in 1918 on his activities in Basar-Kechar region."I killed Muslims by every means possible. Yet it is sometimes a pity to waste bullets for this. The best way is to gather all of these dogs and throw them into wells and then fill the wells with big and heavy stones, as I did. I gathered all of the women, men and children, threw big stones down on top of them. They must never live on this earth."
A. Lalayan, "Revolutsionniy Vostok (Revolutionary East)" No: 2-3, Moscow, 1936. Quoted from Richard Hovannisian, Armenia on the Road to Independence-Berkeley, 1967, p. 41-42."
Q: What about Muslim Children born here in America, who aspire to be President or the ones serving in arm forces?
I am reminded of a young 20 year old Muslim american who just died protecting our freedom in Iraq.
What is a Muslim american child says they want to be President some day? Is it possible?
A: Powell made that point very well. I had forgot that republicans can be thoughtful people. I has been a long time.
Q: Your comment on the nature of muslim-hindu confrontation during the 11th and 12th centuries?
Your comment on the nature and extent of muslim-hindu confrontation during the 11th and 12th centuries?
And why was it important to the history of India.
Or any source where I can found more info on that?
A: The two cultures don't coexist well together and haven't for a long time (just look at the way India and Pakistan act to each other).
The confrontations back then have contributed to the strain that is still felt today.
Its impact on India was that it helped lead to the split off of Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Q: Where can i get pictures of muslim victims of discrimination?
I am writing a college report on the discrimination of muslims and the true teachings of the islamic faith. So i need pictures of people that have suffered discrimination of being muslim, if you could tell me where to find them, that be great.
A: Google?
Q: Who feels that Muslim Americans are being disrespected in this election?
It is now, tolerable to be racist and prejudice to Muslim Americans b/c a small group of people targeted us.
How many of you feel this way? I am appalled, I may not be Muslim but I've learned that prejudice can lead to some horrible things....
What can we do about this?
A: Yes, they are being disrespected.
And the fear and hatred are coming from all sides of the spectrum.
We have SOME (not all--it's not nice to stereotype) people on the right who use Obama's middle name to invoke an association with Saddam Hussein. Funny, Hussein means "beautiful" or "handsome" or "good" and has nothing to do with Saddam, (which, funny enough, means "Powerful Ruler") whose name was Saddam Hussein al-Takriti (Powerful Ruler the Beautiful/Handsome from Takrit).
Barack is a form of the word "blessed." It is Swahili and has its origins in a similar Arabic word. You see this word in many names, including the name of the ruler of Egypt, whose full name is Muhammad Hosni Mubarak. So Barack Hussein Obama means Blessed and Beautiful from the tribe of Obama.
Barack Obama's father and stepfather were Muslim, and his name has Afro-Arabic origins. Unsophisticated Americans of European ancestry are sometimes (not always) afraid of anything that's culturally or religiously different, though it's not just Americans of European ancestry who are playing the "fear" card. Anyone who isn't Muslim, it seems, has something to say about them lately.
Some people will remember that two lovely young women, Muslims, wearing hijab (the headscarf which covers the hair and is regarded by some as a requirement, but by others as a voluntary, public expression of faith--rather like a cross or a Star of David) who were booted off the stage where Obama was scheduled to speak. They were hauled away and placed in chairs where there would be NO CHANCE of the camera catching a glimpse of them. This wasn't Republicans displaying fear--this was the Obama campaign. Obama's staffers insisted that this was the action of a rogue volunteer. Some don't believe that, and think that the campaign didn't want a visual of Muslims associated with the campaign. There have also been complaints by African Americans who were booted off the stage and asked to change their seats, because the campaign didn't want to appear "too black" and wanted to present a backdrop that was more ethnically diverse. Again, the campaign indicated this wasn't "policy" it was simply a shuffle to improve the visual appearance of the crowd on TV.
And of course, there are some crazy people who get up at McCain rallies and say vicious, racist, stupid things, too.
The candidates get up after these incidents and try to smooth things over, insisting that their campaigns aren't "that way" but they're both trying to stay as far the hell away from Muslims as they both can. I suspect that if Muslims made up, oh, say twenty percent of the voting population, they'd be PANDERING, not running.
The Hispanic population, which is almost a quarter of the nation, gets plenty of attention from all the candidates. Muslims are simply too small a minority to get the same level of respect.
Prejudice is a tough nut to crack, and the facts about it are sad. When times are good, people tend to be more tolerant, welcoming and inclusive.
When times are tough, people often cleave to their own particular groups, be they deliniated by race, neighborhood, religion, nationality, favorite sports team, or what-have-you.
What I find sad is that BOTH MAJOR CANDIDATES are running away from American Muslims. Certainly, Muslims in the US don't constitute a huge minority, but they're very charitable as a group, and they're also generous donors to political campaigns. The fact that both candidates are afraid of any Muslim "association" shows how well the last administration managed to make Islam and Muslims the "New Boogiemen" while, at the same time, insisting with a nudge and a wink that the actions of that nitwit nut Osama Bin Ladin were not representative (which they weren't, of course).
What's also sort of sad is how stupid so many people--left, right and center--are about what a Muslim looks like. They have this idea that all Muslims bear some resemblance to, oh, Saddam Hussein, or Osama, or Mohamar Khaddafi, or Yasser Arafat. They don't realize that Muslims come in all races, all colors, and from all nations of the world. They're white, they're black, they're Asian, and they vary in appearance considerably. You find a majority of Muslims in Indonesia, where Obama grew up, and you'll find a substantial minority of them in the Phillipines, in China, in Africa, and all over the world. It's a large religion, with many sects and factions, rather like Christianity is, it spans the globe, and it has adherents that reflect the diverse nature of humanity.
Unfortunately, for now, the "Islam Card" is something that NO ONE wants to play...and they'll shun Muslims if they have to to avoid any discussion of it--they want to stay as far away from it as possible, until the election is over, at least.
Q: Why is the Muslim world in such an uproar over Israel and Palestine?
And not in an uproar over the Muslims being slaughtered by MUSLIMS in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan?
Why do you get 10,000 volunteer suicide bombers when Israel strikes back but not a single one when entire villages are being slaughtered by other Muslims?
Doesn't it prove that the volunteers are insane?
Where is the outcry from the Islamic world for the Muslim Pakistanis that are being beheaded?
Why are the Pal's so much more important than any other Muslim?
A: The ARE insane. They keep doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result each time. (The popular definition of insanity.) Jews and Israelis want less than 1% of the land in the Middle East to have their own sovereign nation. The Muslims can have the other 99% and be left to themselves, but NO! They gotta gripe over the teensie little bit of it that Israel wants, and engage in self-destructive lifestyles to prove it. It would be like Cuba launching missiles and mortars into Miami and expecting to be awarded half of Florida for their efforts, and not be retaliated against for their actions.
Q: How muslim women were treated in the past and today?
I am working on a project for my Spirituality class and I am having a hard time finding information about how Muslim women were treated in the past. I have found info about how they have many more rights now, etc. But I need info on how they used to be treated. Thanks for any help!
A: you ask a good question, and i hope you find answers. muslims like to claim that their religion liberated women, and that "many more rights now" but if you look at saudia arabia or afghanistan, or even pakisan and iran, you cannot imagine a more represive society, where men proudly boast that if their wife dis-obeyed them by going outside or something they would kill her.
maybe try learning the history of early muslim nations to learn the sociology of the time, and compare it to older countries?
speaking about christianity, if you read Deuteronomy and Leviticus in the bible, you may think "people were barbarians back then" from the medical advice (mostly involving animal sacrifice) contained in it. but if you then research Egypt under the egyptians, you see that the country Moses came from was very civilized and advanced. in egypt, there was primitive brain surgery, setting of bones, dressing of wounds, in addition to a lot of barbarian crap. all the good stuff travelled from Egypt and ended up with Hipocrites (of the modern medical hipocricial oath), while the jews when they got open soars were told to grow their hair in beard long and travel around town crying out "un-clean!" to warm people to stay away from them.
maybe you can do something like that -- learn the history of a muslim nation, and also the history of the people who lived before islam came to the nation. i dont' know what you would find there -- for some reason i'm thinking Mongol hoards who were not femminits -- but i suspect that the coming of islam was iether no change (current arabic culture maintained) while making things more repressive and horrible to any place that it spreads to and overtakes in their jihad or caliphate eras.
Q: How soon after election will new anti-Muslim policies start?
How soon after the U.S. election will new anti-Muslim foreign and domestic policy and propaganda take affect? After he takes office or before?
A: You're not even saying who is going to win the election. One of the dumbest Yahoo Questions ever. LOL
Q: How does a Muslim marriage fit with the Christian religion?
just wanted to know if anyone knows, what it would mean for a christian to have a muslim marriage, i know how a muslim marriage works, but i just wanna know if it is a sin? i see it this way...it means being married in front of God, and this is what matters.
A: In Islam, the marriage of a man and a woman is not just a financial and physical arrangement of living together but a sacred contract, a gift of Allah, to lead a happy, enjoyable life and continue the lineage. The main goal of marriage in Islam is the realization of tranquility and compassion between the spouses.
