Q: is xenia a roman catholic saint name?
if you find anything on this could you reply with a link?

Q: When was the last roman catholic saint, to be born?

A: The last Roman Catholic saint to be born is the most recent baby born of a Catholic couple. Saints are God's holy people, living and dead. What is the Church if not a communion of all the saints? When you die and go to heaven you do not leave this family. A few of these saints are so exemplary in their lives that the Church sets them up as good examples of how to love God and your neighbor. This is canonization. There are always new saints going through the canonization process, like Mother Teresa. With love in Christ.

Q: roman catholic saint for abuse?
i've search google and wikipedia for a catholic saint for abuse but i cant find any. does anyone know of one? thank you.

A: St. Monica, St. Rita, and St. Germaine Cousin. They were all abused during their lifetimes, and are patrons of abuse victims. St. Barbara was also abused and killed by her own father for her Christian faith. And there's young Blessed Laura Vicuna, who was beaten to death by her mother's boyfriend. All are examples of people who endured terrible abuse.

I need something about his life, works, and why he was chosen as a saint by the roman catholic church. I really need a fast, and good answer

Q: Question to atheists: would it be irresponsible to name my cat after a Roman Catholic saint?
I'm thinking of naming him Nicodemus. Would this give succour to any Christians who happenned to know I did this? Ptah - I've never taken a shot of him - my camera packed up and my phone camera wouldn't do him justice. He's a large 7 month old tabby with quite long tufty fur (for a so-called shorthair) and lots of black fur covering his back . He may have some Maine Coon in him. The deleted word above starts with "C" and ends with "oon".

A: Most people (even the Catholics) don't know who Nicodemus was, so I think you're REALLY safe. So.... how do you know who he was??? :)

Q: Is the veneration of the Roman Catholic Saints just a vestige of the polytheism Catholics came from?
Have these vast arrays of demi-gods allowed the RCC to assimilate indgenous populations in South America, India, and Africa? Daewan quote of the Day! "Mary is not God; she was a human like everyone else, with the exception that she was born without sin, did not sin, and was the Mother of Christ." ah ha ha... ok...

A: Yes.

Q: Can a Roman Catholic be confirmed with an Eastern Orthodox saint name?
I am Roman Catholic, but I want to pick a saint name from the Eastern Orthodox rhuch to be confirmed with. I want to pick Anastasia. Would that be okay?

A: From what I've read and heard, the name you choose should be that of a cannonized Roman Catholic saint. You can talk to your priest and see what he has to say, but normally, you need to pick a saint recognized by the Catholic church. Here's more information: http://www.ehow.com/how_2154367_choose-confirmation-name.html

Q: Was Padre Juan De Pizzaro of the Quepos mission ever cannonized to become a Saint by the Roman Catholic church
Even though he was responsible for founding the mission there back in l570?

A: Apparently not. There is a strick procedure needed to cannonize anyone which requires documented miracles following death. Remember, anyone who goes to heaven is a Saint. And even those who are cannonized did not necessarily go to heaven since we are not required to believe it under an article of faith. However, it is highly unlikely a cannonized saint would not have gone to heaven.

Q: The Roman Catholic Church's - (Saint) Padre Pio's body to be 'displayed'....?
This person died in 1968...the last Pope elevated this person to a very high profile status in the church heirarchy of 'saints', after death...his body is now to be 'displayed'? for pilgrims to travel to? and view? Do you understand this action? and, what are your feelings about anyone exhuming a corpse for public viewing? Link to CNN story . . . http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/europe/04/24/padre.pio.ap/index.html

A: For a religion that does not condon idol worship there sure are a lot ''idol'' images and objects revered and prayed to. I think that it is ridiculous and it is sad that there are still so many weak minded people in this world.

Q: What is a great site I can use to look up about Roman Catholic Saints?

Q: What are the Roman Catholic Saints and what are they the Patron Saints of?
Please let me know...

A: The word "saint" comes from the Latin word sanctus, which translates to "consecrated" or "holy." Saints are men and women who have lived their lives (and very often gave them up freely) in such a way as to be rewarded with the Kingdom of God. The road to being officially recognized by the Church as a saint in a long one. In the earliest stage, the saint-in-the-making is identified as a "Servant of God." That stage is followed by a recognition of being "Venerable" and then "Blessed" before being recognized by the Church as a saint or "Friend of God." This official recognition by the Church as a saint comes at the conclusion of the process and ceremony called "canonization." These saints, living exemplary lives, provide for us examples to follow so that we may, in turn, follow them to Heaven. "Feast Days" are recognized for each saint. These feast days are very often the day of the year in which they died, especially if they gave up their lives for their faith. These special saints that gave up their lives for their faith are called "martyrs." Based on the course of their lives and the circumstances surrounding them, some of the saints serve as "patrons" of certain peoples, places, things, and occupations, as they intercede for us before God. There are 5261 saints, documented so far. St Christopher, for example, is the Patron Saint of Travel. St. Matthew is the Patron Saint of Accountants. St. Genesius is the Patron Saint of Actors. St. Catherine of Bologna is the Patron Saint of Art. St. Matthew is the Patron Saint of Bankers. St. Anne is the Patron Saint of Christian mothers. St. Vitus is the Patron Saint of Dancers St. George is the Patron Saint of England St.James the Apostle is the Patron Saint of Chile St.Rose of Lima is the Patron Saint of Americas St.Peter Claver is the Patron Saint of Colombia And so and so forth. Hope this helped. Do have a nice day.

Q: Do you believe that Mary and Roman Catholic saints can help you get to heaven?
Mary is the intercessor for all of us? That what the man says but not GOD. GOD said, There is only ONE intercessor and that is His only son JESUS CHRIST.

A: Of course not! grace2u

Q: whats a saint from the roman catholic church who was canonized after 1600?
need to know for a school report

A: Pope Benedict XVI canonized Brazil's first native-born saint, an 18th-century Franciscan friar renowned for his charity to the poor and his legacy of miraculous healings. At an outdoor Mass May 11, the pope read a decree proclaiming sainthood for Father Antonio Galvao, prompting a surge of applause among the hundreds of thousands of people who gathered at Sao Paulo's Campo de Marte Airport for the liturgy.

Q: Does the Anglican Church honor the Roman Catholic Saints?
And if they do does this include the Popes who are Saints? If Pope John Paul II becomes a Saint will they honor him? I know Fr. K honors St. Faustina's visions of Divine Mercy so does this mean he honors her Sainthood too?

A: Tell me what Protestant that does not love and honor St Francis of Asissi. The Anglican Church did not exist until Henry VIII severed his country from the Church.
